Hey All!
I was happy to learn this week that there are atleast a couple people reading my blog :)
Keeping with the previous format I'll be itemizing once again :)
Superior Mop Starter System:
I must say it worked much better after I washed it once... The yellow pad is for a dry sweep and it works very well to pick up dust! The blue pad is for mopping and it did not disappoint! Cleaning my floor with just water abs having it shine is a dream come true! Juliet is in a throw her food on the floor stage so I'll be testing the mop daily ;)
EnviroWand:
I got this today and had to use it immediately! I didn't realize there was so much dust above our door frames! There was dust everywhere and this was sucked it up! I love that it has a firm handle so I can put a bit of pressure. The mop handle attaches to the wand as well so I'll be dusting very high up now!
Dish Cloth:
I just received my second dish cloth today as I love it so much! It took a bit to get used to as it is not your typical cloth. I did some baking and purposely left quite a bit of flour on the counter and the cloth cleaned it up without too much effort! I was all of my dishes with it 2-3 days in a row and it doesn't smell!!!!!
Dishwashing Soap:
I've given it one try so far and my dishes are clean... I'll use it a bit more before I give a thorough review.
Cleaning Paste:
I love this stuff on my stove top so much!!! My grandma who is still a bit unsure LOVES IT! You only need to use a tiny bit so it will last a long long time!
Fridge So Fresh:
I've had this in my fridge for about 12 hours... I'll let you know next time if it's working!!
Laundry Detergent:
My clothes smell fresh and clean :) I have been a Tide girl for years and I think I can make the permanent switch!
Fluff and Tumble Dryer Balls:
So far I love them! They will apparently last 3 years (1000 loads) so that will save me money! They were a bit noiser than I expected for the first bit but it got better once they mixed with the clothes. static was definetly decreased.
Regular fabric sheets will leave a residue on your clothes and in your dryer!!
Mattress Cleaner:
I think it's working!! For the past few months jp and I kept waking up feeling dry and like we were getting a cold. I sprayed our mattress and I guess it could be a placebo but I do think we're both sleeping better and waking up without feeling dry!
Descaler:
My neighbours and I all had spots on our stainless steel fridges no matter how hard we scrubbed... Today I tried the descaler spray and it worked!!! If you want to see a before and after photo message me!
DEODORANT UPDATE:
Still loving it! Yesterday I cleaned all morning and then took Juliet to the library then came home and did more housework and made dinner. At bedtime I took off my white t shirt and showed no... It still looked and smelt clean! My old deodorant left a gross film in the shirt armpits... The crystal doesn't!!!
Ok that's it for tonight!!

Blog # 2
Hey everyone... Blog # 2!! I am going to use a different format this time and I hope it makes it easier for everyone to follow :)
Here are the following products I have tried so far:
ENVIRO CLOTH:
Love! Love! Love! I must admit I was a little sceptical because I have used microfibre before... This cloth is AMAZING! I washed all the stainless steel in the kitchen, I washed my windows-including the dirtiest window frames (thanks to Dewdney Trunk Rd) in the living room and bedrooms and even washed our hardwood floor with the same cloth! Then the next morning I washed my shower/tub with another Enviro Cloth and I could not believe how clean it came and how shiny the glass doors were with JUST water!! I then cleaned the mirror, sink and bathroom floor with the same cloth! Very impressed with how well it worked and its durability!
SANIRA TOILET BRUSH SYSTEM:
Ok so the last toilet brushes I bought (we have three bathrooms so I buy a few at a time) were from Ikea... They have black bristles which I loved because that way you cold not see the gross discolouration!! Eww right?!?! So this new brush has silicone bristles to prevent bacteria from growing on the brush itself. The base of the holder stores the cleaner which is a lot safer for our home then bleach but cleaned just as well as my usual stuff. All you do is clip the top off the cleaner and when you gently push your brush down you can see the cleaner spout out on to the brush. It was easy to use and did a great job! I can't tell you many toilets I have cleaned in my life... WAY TOO MANY!
DUSTING MITT:
At home I dusted all window ledges, baseboards, heat vents, furniture, pictures and shelves with the same dust mitt and I loved it! I then brought one up to the lake and today I spent dusting the lamps, fireplace mantle (and everything on the mantle), 2 chandeliers and living room furniture and as dirty as the mitt appeared it kept picking up more!! The best part was that you just flip it around and you have a whole other side to dirty!!! Oh and I hope it goes without saying... NO CHEMICALS! When I needed a little more 'umph' I just wet the mitt a bit!!
WINDOW CLOTH:
I polished the stainless steel appliances (after washing with the Enviro Cloth), the windows and the mirrors and it definitely left a shine! I need to play around with this cloth a bit more to give it a more detailed revie! I will say though that if your windows/mirrors are dirty like mine then you need to wash them first!
FRUIT AND VEGGIE SCRUB CLOTH:
I've only tried it on one apple and it did feel like I had removed dirt and wax after.
OPTIC SCARF:
A somewhat deceiving name because no it is not a scarf that you wear around your next! It is a cute strip of fabric wrapped around a clip (to use on a bag, purse, etc). Today my grandma and I tried it on phones, glasses, my iPad with great results! She then suggested we try to polish our wedding rings (for those times when you are out and wish you had cleaned them!) and we couldn't believe the results!! My grandma who is definetely a sceptic is planning on ordering one!
BODY CLOTH:
I have been washing my face with this cloth for nearly a week and a half (I launder it every couple days). It takes my black mascara and eye liner off in one swipe and my face feels clean. Unlike my face cloths which normally have to be changed after every use because they start to get that smell... THESE DO NOT SMELL!! I usually use a face wash with make up remover in it because scrubbing my eyes with a cloth usually left them feeling raw but the Body Cloth does not hurt at all!
My 10 year old niece uses a face wash to keep her skin clear and as soon as I read the label I suggested she use a Body Cloth and see whst happens... Her face actually appeared clearer and she said it felt cleaner... PLUS NO CHEMICALS!
CRYSTAL DEODORANT:
Ok as embarrassing as it is if I do not apply deodorant daily I do smell. Also... Although I wash every day I rarely shower EVERY day (except for when I am working). Yesterday I showered and applied the Crystal Deodorant (moisten the stick-apply-let dry). I spent the day packing up for the lake and then unpacking once we arrived, along with the usual cleaning that goes with kids and by bedtime I did not smell! This morning I washed and applied... Worked my butt off all day and went for a walk with the kids... NO SMELL! I'm going to order one for each of my nieces (the older one is wearing antiperspirant)... I just hate them putting so many chemicals on at this young of an age!
Ok I think I have covered all of the products that I have tried so far... I hope you enjoyed my reviews!! See ya next time!

Day 1 Kitchen!
Okay friends please bare with me as I am new at "blogging" :)
My plan with this blog is to share my cleaning experiences with anyone who is interested in a cleaner
chemical free life!!!
I have spent a great deal of my life where actual cleaning has been my profession! My first official job was as a restaurant dishwasher where I spent hours washing dishes, scrubbing boiled over pots and washing floors. Next came my job as a housekeeper at WCFC (West Coast Fishing Club); here I was responsible for cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms, lodge common areas and staff quarters daily. In 5 years at WCFC I tried so many cleaning products and the only thing I could say for sure was that bleach worked... However it also worked at destroying my hands, my sinuses and the septic system! Lastly my current profession and a huge passion of mine... Nursing; I clean my patients bodies, rooms, bathrooms, the nursing station, hallway, common equipment, etc!
So with all of this cleaning experience what have I been cleaning my house with up until now..... Whatever was on sale! I tried to avoid looking at the chemicals and bonus points if it smelt pretty! After I got pregnant I became more health conscious and tried to get cleaning products without chemicals... I got talked into some product at CanadianTire that I could clean anything with and it would be safe if I accidentally injested it... In Jps words "I was taken for a ride"! Sure it smells pretty but does it work? No.
At about 8 months pregnant a friend at work was talking about her cleaning lady and i quickly got her information! (The nesting bug had set in and I was neurotic). I learned that she used a chemical free cleaning product and I was wow'd the first time I looked at my stove top and my hardwood floors! This was my introduction to Norwex! I didn't give much more thought because it wasn't me doing the cleaning however people would visit and ask what I use on my floors and I would through the term "Norwex" around not really understanding it.
A couple months ago Jp and I decided that I once again would need to become the cleaning lady as we needed to save some money. I was so disappointed to attempt to clean my house with my old products and not get the same results as Claire had!
Jp and I were at the home show in February and I was drawn to the Norwex table where I met Michelle who suggested I host a party to both learn about the products and to get free host specials. I was wary as I did not want to be "that friend" however so many of my friends seemed interested in the products so I set a date!
We had a great turn out and our Norwex Rep. Michelle did such a great job explaining how the products worked that we all wanted to own the entire line!!!
The Norwex microfibre clothes have a MUCH tighter and stronger weave than your average cloth-this is what ensures the dirt/bacteria is picked up. To make the product even more desirable it contains silver!!! Silver is antimocrobial which means bacteria has a hard time growing on it!
To simplify it more-the gross smell that your bathroom and kitchen cloths get after you have used them... Well that is bacteria/mildew growing on them! Norwex cloths don't get the smell because of the silver!
Today everyone's products arrived!!! I was so excited when I was sorting everyone's bags knowing that we would all be able to learn about the products together!! I started playing around with the clothes and then went to the cleaning paste and then to the dusting mitt... SO MUCH FUN! Ok ok I realize not everyone finds cleaning fun like I do! But when something works and you know it's safe for your baby, your family, your friends... You can't help but love it!
I used a wet EnviroCloth followed by the dry Window Cloth on my fridge and stove (brushed stainless steel). I used the Spirisponge and Cleaning Paste on my stove top and in my sink. I then cleaned all my counters and cupboard doors with my kitchen cloth. Lastly I dusted my kitchen baseboards and my blinds with the dusting mitt. All of the products did exactly what they were supposed to and I find myself trying to find jobs to "out smart" the products!
Thanks for sticking it out! The next one won't be nearly as long! I have many more products to share with you!!!
